Model: PD-6WCL-WH · white
No-neutral US lighting dimmer: up to 150 W compatible dimmable LED/CFL or 600 W incandescent/halogen when unganged. Incandescent/halogen limits reduce to 500 W at a gang end or 400 W in the middle. Multi-location control uses Pico remotes, not a conventional mechanical three-way companion. Smart integration requires a compatible Lutron hub.

White variant. Amazon listing states support for up to 150W dimmable LED/CFL or 600W incandescent/halogen, no neutral required, and hub-required smart features. Compatible 3-way setup requires Pico remote. Manufacturer documentation review, 2026-10-18: The preceding Amazon-based note is retained as historical evidence, not a current stock or price assertion. Exact US White model PD-6WCL-WH is mapped separately from Canadian, retail-package and multipack suffixes. Supply: 120 V AC, 50/60 Hz. No neutral required. Compatible dimmable LED/CFL limit is 150 W combined; incandescent/halogen is 600 W unganged, 500 W at gang end, 400 W in gang middle. Mixed lamp types require the manual mixed-load table, not addition of maximum ratings. Minimum incandescent/halogen load is 25 W; minimum LED is one compatible bulb, not a universal wattage. Permanently installed lighting only: not receptacles, motors or transformer-supplied appliances. The old generic 1.3 A rating is unsupported and cleared; generic 600 W is also cleared to prevent an unqualified general-load rating, while typed incandescent/LED ratings remain. Three-way means Pico wireless control with the proper wallbox adapter and manufacturer wiring instructions, not mechanical companion compatibility. Disconnect circuit power before electrical work and follow the exact instructions; consult a qualified electrician when uncertain. Retained quick-start 0301729 Rev B (copyright 2014) remains linked by the official product page; specification 369987m is dated April 1, 2024. Documentation review, not physical-device testing. No hardware revision, universal bulb compatibility, stock or certification verdict inferred.

To Home Assistant
Home Assistant
Complete the required items before setup. Items marked “Not required” are optional for this route.
Documented
Use the installed US PD-6WCL-WH. Manufacturer model/color mapping identifies the White variant; Canadian -C and kit/retail variants are outside this scope.
Derived from documentation
The dimmer reaches the hub over Clear Connect RF. The hub connects by Ethernet to the LAN; Home Assistant must reach it locally. This is not direct device Wi-Fi.
Documented
Use a running Home Assistant host with local access to the hub.
Documented
Add Lutron Caseta in Home Assistant. This route does not use Matter or HomeKit commissioning.
Documented
New hub activation requires a new or existing Lutron account and Internet. Local everyday HA control is a separate phase, not a claim of account-free onboarding.
Documented
This path selects the standard L-BDG2-WH, explicitly supported by Home Assistant. It does not require a PRO hub.
Documented
For activation, use the current Lutron app on iOS or Android, with the phone/tablet and hub on the same network.
Documented
Start after safe installation under the exact manufacturer instructions. Disconnect power at the breaker before installation work; use only permitted permanently installed dimmable lighting, not outlets, motors or transformer-supplied appliances.
Documented
Connect hub Ethernet and power, let any update finish, then follow the Lutron app discovery prompts and press the rear button when requested. Skip activation if the existing hub is already correctly set up.
Derived from documentation
In the Lutron app choose Settings > Add Device, follow its prompts and confirm dimming works there before proceeding. Do not factory-reset a working installation as a routine setup step.
Documented
Use the discovered hub or Settings > Devices & services > Add Integration > Lutron Caseta; follow the on-screen instructions.
Derived from documentation
Check HA on/off and several brightness levels, then operate the wall buttons and verify state updates before depending on automations. This is a recommended check, not a hardware result.
Derived from documentation
PD-6WCL is a wall dimmer; HA documents wall dimmers as light entities, whose actions include on/off. Exact-model exposure is a combined-documentation inference.
Derived from documentation
Manufacturer dimming and HA dimmable-light support establish expected brightness control, not color control or guaranteed performance with every bulb. No hardware test was performed.
Documented
The dimmer has local on/off and brighter/darker controls. Its FASS service switch is documented separately; it is not a substitute for disconnecting the breaker before installation.
Not yet verified
Power telemetry exposed through this route was not established.
Not yet verified
Energy telemetry exposed through this route was not established.
Derived from documentation
Hub onboarding uses Lutron account/app/Internet, then the dimmer is added to that hub and HA is connected locally.
Documented
Home Assistant explicitly classifies the Lutron Caseta integration as Local Push. This is its documented integration classification, not a physical-device or interoperability test. Initial account/app/Internet requirements remain separate.
Derived from documentation
Accessing HA from outside the LAN requires separately configured remote access; Lutron-app remote features are not proof that HA remote access is configured.
Derived from documentation
HA can automate its light entities. Reliability depends on the running host and each trigger/action dependency; external services may add Internet dependence.
Documented
Lutron pushes hub updates and the app may require one during setup. Hub updates require Internet. This does not establish PD-6WCL dimmer-update delivery.
Documented
ui_or_documented_manual_certificates
Keep physical access to the hub for pairing. HA also documents a manual account-login/certificate method and reuse of existing certificates. Protect private keys; this review performs no pairing or credential generation.

not_matter
Do not look for a Matter/Thread setup code for this route. The HomeKit code shown in Lutron onboarding belongs to an optional, different integration.
Not yet verified
No minimum dimmer firmware, hub firmware, HA release or mobile-OS version was established for this exact route. Use current supported app/platform releases; a minimum must not be invented.
Not yet verified
No reviewed source established a user-update method or firmware delivery mechanism for PD-6WCL-WH.
Not yet verified
L-BDG1 compatibility with this Home Assistant path was not established. Do not substitute it for the selected L-BDG2-WH.
